"Sugar Blues" – A great book

I’ve been reading, off and on, “Sugar Blues” by William Dufty. It’s a really interesting read with the first part of the book explaining how sugar has played a huge role in history, including expansionism and slavery (I guess tobacco can be included in this). One quote of interest in this book; “We will fight to the death to avoid accepting responsibility for making ourselves sick.” Wow! Where would family medical doctors be if this statement were not true? Where would the big pharma’s be if this statement were not true? Where would the dis-ease-stablishment be if this statement were not true? What state would “Health Care” or “Disease and Crisis Care” be in and how affordable would it be? For some people, a quote like this might trigger instant drama – people who believe others are responsible for the situation they are in (their co-workers, spouses, family, etc.) or how their life has turned out. But again, I am here to tell you – YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE! The second you accept this – you will change the way you “treat” yourself. You will do more things for yourself and your wellbeing and you will trust the processes of the body.

There are no accidents in the world – the universe is perfect – everything occurs for a reason and because of this, You are responsible!
